Sue's Step #6

This is a Step pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 15220)

Hi folks -

Here are two 64 count blocks, all tapless. The first changes lead, the second doesn't, so if you put them all together, the whole thing changes lead. The right, left are the lead foot - the foot that starts the move.

The * moves have optional layers listed at the end. A lot of the layers have turns and hops in them, so it's important to remind folks to unweight.

Breakdowns of "named" moves are at the end too.

Comments/feedback and questions all welcome...just please put "turnstep" somewhere in the subject line...

- Sue

First 64 count block (changes lead)

Second 64 count block (does not change lead)

As I seem to say about every other combo or so, many thanks to Jacque for counts 9-24 of the second block...

LAYERS:

* "regular dip combo" can be "turning dip combo" as described below

** "repeater" can be "repeater with a twist" (see below) or any fancy lead-changing 8 count repeater of your choice

*** three squats in place can be "jump-turned" so the left foot is on the bench for the first one with body facing the right/east wall, then the right foot on the bench for the second with body facing the left/west wall, then the left foot on the bench again for the third one and again with body facing the right/east wall

**** basic right and half-mambo/cha-cha-cha on ground can be a full 360 degree reverse turn right and then you keep turning on the ground so the half-mambo is taken to the back corner, becoming more of a push then to get you back around to your bench

NAMED STEPS:

"overturn" right (4 counts, does not change lead): half of a revolving door right

"regular dip combo" left (16 counts, changes lead): up-up on bench left, right (counts 1,2), left foot dips/steps on ground behind bench and right foot steps on bench in place (counts 3,4), left foot steps on bench next to right foot and right foot steps/dips on ground behind bench (counts 5,6), left foot steps on bench in place and right foot steps on bench next to left (counts 7,8), down-down behind bench facing forward left, right (counts 9.10), 2-knee repeater left (counts 11-16)

"turning dip combo" left (16 counts, changes lead): up-up on bench left, right (counts 1,2) left foot dips/steps on ground in front of bench with body turning slightly towards east wall and right foot steps on bench in place (counts 3,4); left foot steps on bench next to right foot and right foot steps/dips on ground in front of bench (counts 5,6) with body turning slightly towards west wall; left foot steps on bench in place and right foot steps on bench next to left (counts 7,8); down-down straddling bench facing east wall left, right (counts 9.10), 2-knee repeater left (counts 11-16)

"repeater with a twist" right (8 counts, changes lead, slightly facing left/west wall): right foot up on bench (count 1), left knee up and back down to ground (counts 2,3), twist hips side to side (counts 4,5), left knee up (ct. 6), step down-down in home position left, right (counts 7,8)

"K-step" left (8 counts, from behind bench, facing right/east wall the whole time, looks sort of like the legs of a letter "K", does not change lead): left foot on bench, right foot on ground near left foot, left foot on ground well forward of right foot, right foot on ground in about the same place as it was, left foot on bench, right foot on ground in about the same place as it was, left foot on ground well behind right foot, right foot on ground in about the same place as it was

"knee left + turnback knee" (8 counts, does not change lead): knee left on bench (4 counts.) + knee right on ground facing back/corner of room, as if there were a bench there (note: counts 7,8 return back to "home" behind bench)

"double lunge" right (8 counts, does not change lead, I think this is what some folks call a split basic???): up-up right, left, lunge back right, lunge back left, down-down right, left

"double pendulum" right (6 counts, does not change lead): right foot double-hops on bench with left leg abducted to side (2 counts.), left foot double-hops on bench with right leg abducted to side (2 counts), down-down behind bench facing forward right, left (2 counts.)

"repeater crossover" right (8 counts, horizontal bench, facing left/west wall, ends up on other side of bench from start, changes lead): right foot on bench, left knee up and slight turn counterclockwise (count 2) to tap on ground on front/north of bench (count 3), left knee up and slight turn clockwise (count 4) to tap on ground on back/south of bench (count 5), left knee up and slight turn counterclockwise (count 6), down-down left, right on front/north of bench (counts 7-8) with left foot down first and right foot to outside of the left foot

NOTE: This description is done from behind/south of bench to front/north of bench - in the combo it's done the other way...from front/north to behind/south.

NOTE: Need to unweight foot on bench.
