Stomp...The Chicago Production!

This is a Step pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 15272)

Bench is vertical. Start on a right lead with the bench to the right of you. Blocks are 32 counts. Keep adding blocks. It's tapless, it flows beautifully, it's challenging and fun! There's enough choreography to really stretch this out several weeks. I tell my classes learn, expect to make mistakes, get the moves down and perfect them and then, make it look effortless! There are some simpler moves thrown in for "brain breaks". Enjoy and happy summer!!!

Block 1:

Right lead, stomp the bench right and left corner to corner and step up on top of the bench. From the top of the bench mambo from the top of the bench right and left, slightly turning with each mambo step and then exit off the bench. With a right lead again, make a diamond using the bench and floor (A-step on the bench, no tap and then do a 180-degree turn and do another A-step on the floor no tap and do a 180-degree turn ending up where you started). Finish up this block with right lead going into a knee lift, 3-count walk away backward, kick and two-count walk back toward the bench.

Block 2:

Stomp 2x right foot on bench, mambo back right on the floor, up right and left to the top of the bench, alternating lunges off the top of the bench right, left, right, exit off same side of the bench. You'll be on a left lead facing East. Now do a V-step, corner-to-corner knees and an over-the-top. You will end up on a left lead facing West on the other side of the bench. Repeat this block with a left lead.

Block 3:

Starting on a left lead, do a left knee lift and go from the knee lift to a squat with left foot still on the bench and right foot on the floor. Then, do a left foot box step on the floor crossing over the right foot and then do a 2-count shuffle on the floor, staying on the same side of the bench. Repeat this move with a right lead. With the next move, a three-repeater knee, you will have two options, a straight repeater, or a running man repeater (alternating leg knee repeater stepping on the bench after lifting the knees and switching to the other knee by landing on ball only of other foot on the floor and then lifting the knee).

Block 4:

Left lead, turnstep finishing with a ball-change on the floor and then right lead same thing. Now, with a left lead do a syncopated turn on the bench and finish up the move hopping 2x on both feet, pumping the arms up and down on the hops. (Syncopated turn with hops is 8 counts: left foot bench, right foot bench, left foot floor, right foot bench, left foot bench, right foot floor, both feet hop, hop). Now, you will use this syncopated pattern and change the move into an over-the-top and back move and a two-count walk around the end of the bench and repeat it again, ending up where you started. (Bench, bench, floor, bench, bench, floor two-count walk around the end and repeat a second time.

Block 5:

Left lead again stomping on the bench 2x, mambo left foot back on the floor, step up on top of the bench left and right and then do three alternating lunges from the top of the bench. This time around, you will do a 180-degree turn and exit off the end of the bench right AFTER the third lunge. The next move is approached from the end of the bench. Right lead, stomp 2x on the bench, right foot then steps on the floor and then double-time tempo walk up on the bench left and right and walk left and right off the other end of the bench. From the floor do a 180-degree left-foot pivot and then three alternating hamstring curls moving back toward the end of the bench.

You are now ready to start back at the beginning of block 1 on a left lead and repeat the entire routine! If you have any questions, email me.
