Lethal Leslie #28 - Vertical

This is a Step pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 14999)

Step is vertical, tapless, assume a right lead on all combos. Starting on the left side of the step, side approach.

Warm Up

Combo 1

*Get up get down: it's just coming up and lunging for two. But before you do this you are facing the back and you have to get home. So, left foot to right corner (1), right foot up like the start of a reverse turn but you feet aren't as wide (2), you should now be facing the front again, lunge 2 to home and exit home (3-8)

Combo 2

*123 on top (5): it's like a 5 count mambo or some call it a stomping "L". Anyways, left lead on the right side of the step, left foot on top of step (1), right foot on top of step behind the left foot & the left foot lifts slightly (a back mambo on top of the step (2), left foot back down and right foot lifts (3), exit right left turning to face the back (4,5))

Combo 3

*Shuffle forward and box step around the end & one stomp: right lead on left side of the step, first part is the start of a shuffle turn, so you shuffle down the step (1&2), ending with the right foot on the step and the left foot is in the air slightly in a kick, left foot crosses over the right foot and lands on the floor on the right side of the step (box step part) (3), right foot to the floor turning in to face the step (4), left foot to the floor a little wider than the right foot & right foot lifts up (5), right foot stomps the back corner (6), exit left right to face the front again (7,8)

*Weave & mambo (6): facing the front, left foot leads. Left foot to the step (1), hop on the left foot while bringing the right leg behind the left leg, while turning slightly to face the back (2), exit right towards back of room (3), left foot to floor (mambo) and right foot lifts (4), right foot back in place and left foot lifts slightly turning to face the front (5), left foot on the floor on the left side of the step and right foot is up (6)

Combo 4

*Diagonal & mambo, reverse & mambo, reverse & straddle: it's exactly how it sounds, the mambos are actually stomps to the floor from the top of the step. Right lead, go diagonal right left (1,2), right foot stomps the floor on the right side of the step & left foot lifts slightly (3), reverse turn left right (4,5), left foot stomps the floor on the right side of the step & right foot lifts slightly (6), reverse turn right left (7,8), straddle down right left (9,10).

*Chasse over & mambo 2X (8): an option is just to weave over 2X, you go over the step fast (1&2), then you do a back mambo on the floor with the trail leg (3,4)

Combo 5

*Pop over & back: it's like a 6 count mambo, left lead on the right side of the step facing the front, left foot hops over the step to the left side (1), right foot does a back mambo and left foot lifts slightly (2), left foot back down on the floor & right lifts (3), right foot hops over the step to the right side of the step & left comes up too (4), left foot back mambos on the floor & right lifts (5), right foot back down & left lifts (6). When you do this you are doing it in a jogging/running way. But you can do it low impact by just keeping your legs lower and walking it out instead of jogging it. It's more fun to jog it though.

*Chasse around the step (6): it's a combination of an orbit/revolving door & a chasse over the step with a mambo, except there's no mambo. Hope I can explain this one ok. Left lead, facing the front, left foot up on the step (1), right foot on the step and left foot lifts off, slightly turning to face the back (&), left foot to the floor on the left side of the step, facing the back (2), right foot on the floor towards right corner, turning towards the right corner (3), repeat it again to face the front again for the last 3 counts.

O.k. that's it for now. This should give you a whole class. You may even have time for one more combo. I just don't feel like writing another one out right now. Hope you enjoy. If you have questions or comments feel free to email me.
