Heidi's Cardioboxing in the ATL
This is a
BoxAerobics pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 15175)
I get so many ideas from you all (especially Kari from Wisconsin!!), so if you see something familiar, you likely blessed me, so hopefully I will be able to pass on those blessings to someone else here:
Combo 1 (32 counts):
Start in horse stance, facing front of room:
- Alternating front jabs:
- High (toward the diagonal above your head) (2)
- Middle (chest height) (2)
- Low (try not to bend over but punch straight down) (2)
- Jump rope and bring feet together, or just march them in (2)
Repeat (another 8 counts)
- Right hook (1)
- Squat/duck while facing front (1)
- Left hook (1)
- Squat/duck again (1)
Repeat (another 4 counts)
- Cross-country ski, or lunge back for low impact option (8)
Combo 2 (32 counts):
- 8 Front kicks moving forward, kicking on count 1 (16)*
- March wide while squatting down (horse stance) while doing 8 alternating jabs (8)**
- Hop (or march) back with feet still wide 4x, holding one arm out straight in front, the other on your hip, like you are riding a horse (well, sort of, LOL, but it looks cool and is FUN to do!) (4)***
- 2 Jacks (4)
** Try adding a reach up with both arms then do a double-elbows back as you kick for more intensity
** When right foot steps, the right arm is jabbing; left foot steps when left arm jabs.
*** It really helps to Clap! on the fourth 'hop back', jumping the feet together so they know the jacks are coming next.
Combo 3 (16 counts):
(Start in fighting stance, left foot forward)
- Double front kick left (2)
- Back kick right (2)
- Switch stances (2)*
- Double right jab (2)
- Left cross (2)
- Right elbow up (2)**
- Left elbow comes around and down while lunging (2)
** To switch stance Jump! while spinning around so feet land in right foot forward fighting stance. FUN! They can also just step around for low impact option.
**Try jumping UP! on the front (right) elbow for intensity!
Please email me and let me know what you think, and if you like it and can use it!
