Beginner Success Story
This is a
Hi/Lo pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 15519)
I put this together as a 'final' for a beginners aerobic course. It was heaps of fun to see the success after 10 lessons!
Block 1:
- 4 - Grapevine right + hamstring left
- 4 - Double left hamstring
- (--> this actually translates into a grapevine + 3 left hamstrings)
- 4 - Sexy walk to the front
- 4 - Low jack (lift the arms wide like a star)
- 4 - Grapevine left + hamstring right
- 4 - Double right hamstring
- 4 - Sexy walk back again
- 4 - Low jack (lift the arms wide like a star)
Block 2: (the easy block for motivation)
- 8 - Kick to front and move foreward
- 8 - Mambo + cha cha cha to the right and back again to the left
- 8 - Kick to front and move back again
- 8 - Mambo + cha cha cha to the right and back again to the left
Block 3: (the challenge ;-)
- 16 - Grapevine + hamstring (the move starts by turning the right shoulder forward after the mambo so that nose is facing West. The first 2 grapevines (right+left) are done facing W, then turn right shoulder back again so that nose faces foreward for the other 2 grapevines right+left)
- 4 - Box step right
- 4 - Box step right + shimmy (do the first 3 steps of the box step and on the fourth step, lift the left leg over onto the right knee and wiggle your bum) (This is effectively now a change onto the left lead leg)
- 8 - Step touch left lead
Block 4: (mirror of block 3, left lead)
(in preparation for this block you could have turned slightly on the last L-step touch so that your nose is facing East already)
- 16 - Grapevine + hamstring (the move starts by turning the left shoulder forward after step touch so that nose is facing East. The first 2 grapevines (left+right) are done facing E, then turn left shoulder back again so that nose faces foreward for the other 2 grapevines left+right)
- 4 - Box step left
- 4 - Box step left + shimmy (do the first 3 steps of the box step and on the fourth step, lift the right leg over onto the left knee and wiggle your bum) (This is effectively now a change onto the right lead leg)
- 8 - Step touch right lead
The last part with the box steps is a challenge, but the bum wiggle gets lots of giggles, so it is really worth it.
If you have questions, mail me! Have fun....
