Julie's Circle Step

Step pattern from

The Steps are arranged in a big Circle. I have 2 circles, one with double risers and one with single risers. Rather than self-reversing, the combos are first all on the right foot. The last combo reverses the lead foot, and then you do it all left. When breaking it down, I do each combo right and left for practice, and then add it to the chain of combos.
- (4) Basic straddle home (traveling)
- (straddle between the benches)
- (4) Basic straddle on the next step
- (8) Double repeater, take a hike* to 3rd bench
- (4) Over top of 3rd bench
- (4) Walk to the 4th bench
- (8) Quick Tap** on the 4th bench
(still right lead)
- (6) Up 4th bench, (face side) lunge right and Left
- (4) Face out (back), lunge 2 rear
- (4) Face opposite side, lunge right and left
- (6) Step down, do 2 jacks
- (4) Turnstep left lead
- (8) Turn travel***4th and 5th benches, go to 6th bench
(still right lead)
- (4) Knee pop turn (hop pivot) 6th bench
- (4) Quarter turn forward to face out (back)
- (8) Across the top 2 benches facing out (6th & 7th)
- (8) Triple repeater, moving around to the front of bench, left lead
- (4) 1 Chasse turnstep (hesitation)
- (4) Chasse travel to 8th bench (up 23, down 23)
(still right lead)
- (4) Knee straddle
- (4) Straddle walk forward
- (4) Hammer hop (weave)
- (4) 2 Jacks or 4 marches to 9th bench
- (8) Double diagonal (diagonal over 2 benches with tap or pony between)
- (8) "V" turn (1 hangover "V" and one front facing "V" on 11th bench)
(still right lead)
- (8) "Skate" (step hop) on top 3 times, march down
- (8) Double grapevine to 13th bench
- (4) Walk over the bench
- (4) 2 Jacks turning to the right
- (4) Over the top
- (4) 2 Jacks
(this combo reverses the lead and you go back through the entire routine left lead)
Note- You don't nessesarily need 11 benches, because you can just keep going around the circle. just have 1 bench for each person and then maybe 1 or 2 extras.
* Take a Hike- walk 1,2, then 123 (walk 2, triple step)
** Quick tap-(side shooter) up, lunge right and left, tap down
***Turn travel- turnstep on 2 benches with 2 walks between
