Sometimes we use the step in our kickboxing for a bit more resistance and added legwork. The class likes it, and the combinations can be quite challenging. Here's one we did a week ago that seemed to flow easily:
That shouldn't take them long at all--then add the second set of 8 counts:
Now here's the challenge, start it all with a left step up. It may seem a bit difficult, but it's really just KICK, HOOK, SLIPS; STRIKE, HOOK, OVER-THE-TOP.
If you really want to break it down, start with the first 8 counts (8 or 12 reps), then switch to stepping up with the left foot and repeating the 8 counts on the other side (8 or 12 reps), and then go back to the first 8 and add the second 8 and alternate the whole thing. Wow! That just sounded really confusing, but it's not at all!
