GG's first attempt at hi/lo
This is a
Hi/Lo pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 15477)
I taught my first hi/lo class on Saturday, and it went well! The class was supposed to be 30 minutes of any type of cardio plus 30 minutes of toning/weights, but this pattern took 35 minutes to learn and complete a few times.
Like all my step patterns, each part is 64 counts and self-reversing. I did not weave on Saturday; I was more concerned with just remembering and getting through it! I am writing the hi options, but of course we learned the lo options too (ham curls instead of scoops, grapevines instead of shuffles, etc.).
Part 1
- 4 Scoops forward (8)
- Shuffle backward on a diagonal 2x (8)
- Single single double ham curl (8)
- Grapevine back and front (8) -- basically a super long grapevine... you step out (1), cross back (2), step out again (3), cross front (4), step out (5), and finish with a double ham (6-8)
- 3 Regular grapevines (12)
- 1 Mambo (4)
- 2 Shotgun or wide squats (8)
- X-country ski (8)
Part 2
- 3 V-step (12)
- 1 Mambo (4)
- Jog forward for 2 counts plus 3 alternating knees (8)
- 2 Pony (4)
- Jog backward (4)
- Shuffle box (facing all 4 walls) (16)
- 2 Step-touch facing front (4)
- 1 Out & in (4)
- 2 Mambo cha chas (facing front and back walls) (8)
