Kauai Low Impact Summer 2005
This is a
Hi/Lo pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 15410)
This choreography comes from the IDEA convention from Petra Kolber's workshop - she is my very favorite dance based presentor - her moves are creative but most importantly still user friendly and her attitude and presence is always an inspiration. Hope my interpretation works for some of you out there.
- Grapevine right (face East if you want direction)
- Hips to left, right, triple left (with shuffle)
- Hips circle right x 4 turning back to face front
- Do left
- Mambo right lead to left front corner of room x 2, on second one travel to right front corner and do an "X" step left lead (that's a V-step forward and back)
- Do left lead
- Chasse right & left, turn and walk right lead East, knee up on 4, walk back and flow into left lead
- Corner walk right lead right corner, knee up on 4 do 2 L mambos*, pivot on the 3rd
- Do left lead (*2 mambos can become 4 1/2 mambos stepping forward, side (can come up on toes) back and side the pivot)
- Face East do 2 step touches right and left
- Grapevine right and left (or twirl) 4 funky marches right lead and face West
- Do left lead
My favorite part of this choreography is the varied angles, you do everything but move directly to the front of the room which is so refreshing for a change - I have done this choreography with top 40 dance music and also latin music - it has stayed fresh and challenging for over 6 weeks since we only do it once a week - tomorrow I plan to do it starting with all Left leads to make us all think a bit more.
Aloha to all my turnstep friends, Petrina
