Today's class (9-28)

This is an Aquatic pattern from (pattern 15446)

I did a couple of really fun moves in class today that really challenged the mind and the body. It was a fun class! The participants really liked it and I hope you can use it too.

Here are the moves I did:

3 cross country ski's and freeze*

Jumping jacks alternating arms touching above the head, in front of the chest (like a chest flye) and then regular arms where they touch your outer thighs**

The majority of my class, which is an hour long, was spent breaking down the moves, especially the jacks, with intervals inbetween so it wasn't so monotonus.

*You can hold the freeze for however long you like. I started out with a short pause (4 beats) and then moved up to a longer pause (8 beats) then after the longer pause I had them stay where they were and just move the arms (like pitching a softball) for another 16 counts.

** I broke this down to do two phrases of jacks with the arms above the head. (Of course remember to cue your class that if they have any shoulder problems or heart problems,they should keep the hands at shoulder level or below.) Then I would do about 2 phrases with the arms in the middle and then two phrases regular jacks. I did that several times and then I would slowly whittle it down in repetition until we got to doing arms up, arms middle, arms low (regular jack) all in a row.
