OK I got inspired to do a L-step looking at one of the other posts. This one flowed smooth from Right to left and my classes had no problem following. Make sure you teach the mambos and the horseshoe early.
No1:
(Home)
- Right basic
- Right hopturn
- 3 V's as follows: 1 on home; right home, left on away; the next V one on the away (basically we are travelling on the outer side of the 2 steps)
(Away)
- 2 Right turnsteps
- One over the top
Repeat the entire thing on the left
No2:
- 1/2 Right "L" (on home)
- Long hop turn across the top (you will end up facing the back of the room and facing the short end of the away step, bridge here when you are teaching the combo)
- T-step on away
- Split basic on the away step facing the back of the room
- (***Tricky part) Horsehoe on the away step you are still facing the back of the room: shuffle with your right foot on away when you get to the end of the away step, cross you left foot in front of the right and step down on the other side of the step, you are still facing back. Now shuffle back with your left foot on the away step and step down.
You are ready to go on left foot, start with left "L" on the away step.
No3:
- MAMBOCOMBO: for 1,2 mambo on home step, same leg mambos on away step for 3,4 and do a back mambo for 5,6 and while doing cha cha cha change direction toward the away step.
- Split basic on the away step
- Indesion on the HOME step (Alert Moving to the side)
- Do a double knee walk walk (explained below) to walk all the way to the away step to change lead leg
Double knee walk walk: lead leg up, left double knee step down walk for walk to the other side of the away step for four count
