Lethal Leslie #43

This is a Step pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 15994)

As always, horizontal, tapless, self-reversing. Assume a right lead on each combo. Here's what I am planning to do Saturday morning. I'm sorry ahead of time if my explanations seem short, but I'm trying to get this done before I leave work today.

Warm Up

Rock up & down - this is a variation of a 6 count mambo. Some may say tango up tango down. Right foot up at left corner (1), left foot up on the step behind the right foot and right foot lifts slightly (2), right foot back down in place and left foot lifts (3), left foot to the floor beside the step & right foot lifts (4), right foot on the floor behind the left foot & left foot lifts slightly (5), left foot back down to the floor & right foot lifts (6). Hence rock up and down. This is used later in combo #2. Just use this explanation here.

Combo 1

Reverse & 2 side lunges & straddle - here's an option for people who like things more complicated, after the second lunge as you are bringing your right foot up out of the lunge go into a full reverse instead of straddling down.

Combo 2

Rock on top step down & pivot turn & chasse up right left right - rock on top is explained above. Rock on top (1-3), left foot down to the floor at the west end (4), right foot starts the pivot turn on the floor in front of the left foot, & left foot comes up on the toes (5), left foot steps in place (6), chasse up on top of step (7&8)

Rock down - refer to rock up and down

Tap tap rhythm - a variation of a repeater 2, right foot leads at left/west corner, right foot taps the step at the left corner (1), right foot taps the step at the east corner (2), right foot steps on the step at the left/west corner & left foot lifts slightly (3), left foot to the floor at the west end of the step & right foot lifts slightly (&), right foot back down on the step & left foot lifts (4) exit home left right (7,8)

Power jog - is just a variation of a basic step, assume a left lead as in the combo, left foot hops over to the northeast side of the step (1), right foot follows to the north side of the step but at the west end (2), left foot to the south west of the step on the floor (3), right foot follows, but at the east end (4), can do this just by stepping over the step, but I like to jog it.

Combo 3

Rhythm V (8) - right lead, up in a V right left (1,2), right & left foot to the floor on south side of the step (&3), now a 5 point mambo off the west end of the step, which is simply a double stomp moving off the end and back. Some may call it a stomping L.

Pivot turn walk walk 2X - just like a knee front back, but you pivot turn on the corner walk 2 pivot turn and walk 2 back to the step

Rhythm orbit - there's a thread on the moves board titled this

Rhythm off the ends 2X - similar to the tap tap rhythm but there's no tap tap, just the rhythm part, similar to stomp the bug

Combo 4

Knee pivot stomp & box - right lead at left/west corner, right foot up on the step (1), hop on the right foot again and bring the left knee up and you are now facing the east (2), left foot down on the step kind of at a diagonal to the front right corner (3) right foot stomps the floor at the east end & left foot lifts slightly (4), left foot back on the step in place (5, but foot is facing front), right foot crosses over the left foot & lands on the step (6), exit back left right (7,8)

Quick 6 - thread on moves board called Carlo's quick 6

Combo 5

L-step tic toc turn - right foot up at right corner (1), left knee up (2), left foot taps the floor (3), left foot back up on the step & right leg swings out to the side while facing the north east corner of the room (4) hop on the right foot and left leg swings out to the side facing the south east corner of the room (5), left knee up (6) exit to the north side of the step left right (7,8)

Wander - assume a left lead facing the back as in the combo, left foot up on the step in the middle (1), hop on the left foot again and the right leg swings out to the side (2) coming forward, right foot to the floor on the south side of the step (3), left foot to the floor beside the right foot (4)

Back mambo & pivot turn - assume a right lead as in the combo, still facing the back, right foot (ball of foot) goes on the step & left foot lifts slightly (1), left foot back down to the floor in place (2) right foot to the floor in front of the left foot starting the pivot turn on the ball of the foot (3) left foot steps in place & right foot lifts, you are now facing the step again (4)

Quick over 2X - you are going over the step & back in a count of 1&2, 3&4

Hope this is explained OK. I didn't feel like writing out the break down. If you would like it for a particular combo, just email me. Any questions feel free to email also.

Enjoy!
Leslie

P.S. This is for you Step Junkie!
