Here's a class that works well with my beginners. Each combination is self-reversing. Once I've taught the first 3 combos, I cycle through with alternating leads eg. R A, L B, R C, L A etc. Teach another combo and repeat this with the last 3 combos until all combos have been taught and the whole thing can be done from the top.
A
- 2 Right basic (8)
- 2 Alternate ham curls (8)
- 2 Right V-steps (8)
- Repeater ham curl (8)
B
- Double stomp, step kick on corner, travel* (8)
- Double stomp, step kick on corner, travel (8)
- Side lift travel each corner (8)
- Repeater knee/heel/knee** (8)
C
- 2 L-step travel (16)
- 2 Alternate double knee repeaters center (12)
- Step kick (4)
D
- Up, up lunge back 6x (16)
- 3 Alternate glute lifts (12)
- 2 Heel digs to bench or tap out to side right&left on floor (4)
E
- Repeater knee on the corner, tap down. Punch forward 3x with same arm as lead leg. Other arm holds a blocking position. (8)
- 2 Over top. Jab to side 2x in the direction you are heading. (8)
- Repeater knee as above, same lead then travel to center. (8)
- 2 Basics. Use jump rope arms. (8)
*Try doing one stomp on the bench and the second one one the floor at the front of the bench.
**Like a repeater knee but step down after the first knee and heel dig on the bench with the lead leg on fourth count. Finish with a step knee.
