Candy's Single Step
This is a
Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 15688)
This is a faily complicated one that is off phrase about 75% of the time. Sorry - it just worked out that way, but it was so much fun once everyone got it.
Combo 1:
- Up slow, down, up tempo, split I-step (16 count) (up slow 1-4, down, up right, left 5-8, jack on top 9-10, lunge right, left 11-14, exit right, left 15-16)
- Stomp around the world (12 count) (like a knee around the world, but stomps instead)
- Step kick (4 count)
Repeat left lead, totals 32 counts
Combo 2:
- 5 Count turnstep x 2 (10 count) (turnstep, mambo back x 2)
- Out wide repeater (8 count) (up right, left like a wide step, step in right, or hop in both, double knee left, exit left, right. I've also seen this called a V-repeater. I don't call it that because 'V' and 'knee' sound so much alike and it is confusing for my classes)
- Basic with left or 360 (4 count)
- Power tap corner, double power tap other corner. (10 count)
Repeat left lead, totals 32 counts
Combo 3:
- Double knee, walk around (8 count) (up right, double knee left 1-4, exit left, right and walk left, right back and around small end to front yard 5-8)
- Diagonal, 1/2 box, shuffle (8 count) (stole these 8 count Carole - diagonal and exit left, right, left, right 1-4, 1/2 a box step - left crosses over right, right steps back 5-6 shuffle in front yard left, right, left 7-8. End up in front yard facing back)
- Indecision, exit down down right, left (8 count) (my version indecision - up lunge side to side, exit)
- 1/2 Curb walk, small turn (8 count) (you tap down out of the small turn, but I tapped over the step to add variety)
Repeat left lead, totals 32 counts
Combo 4:
- Pivot split (8 count) (Take off like you are doing an L-step, except you pivot when the left knee comes up, lunge off small end left, right and exit off small end left, right. Think of a combination of an L-step, a pivot, and a split basic)
- Walk straddle left,right (4 count)
- Knee back/front (8 count) (No that doesn't stand for bitch fit...it stands for bench/floor....meaning one knee on the step, turn on the exit and do one knee on the floor.) You sissys can just take it corner to corner!
- Knee straddle (4 count)
- Up and off small end right, left (4 count)
- Pivot back to GO (4 count) (up right, knee left and pivot to face front, exit left, right)
Repeat left lead, totals 32 counts
Have fun with it. Email with any questions. I also turned this into a double step routine - post it later. Candy
