Traveling & Strengthening Hi-lo
This is a
Hi/Lo pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 15620)
This is a combination I came up with from a kickboxing class I taught. I took out the kickboxing moves and came up with the following - lots of traveling and some strength moves. I taught the army 8 first for pratice before starting the routine. We repeated the combo so many times I was sore from the push-ups the next day!
Combo 1 (32):
- Grapevine on a diagonal to the right, turn and grapevine diagonally left, moving forward the entire time (8) (grapevine can be a shuffle)
- 1 Army 8* (16)
- Grapevine back on a diagonal moving right, turn and grapevine diagonally left - back to starting position (8)
Combo 2 (32):
- 2 Left knees (4)
- 2 Right knees (4)
- 4 Ham curls (8)
- Left leg lunge forward, pulse down for 3 (8)
- Right leg lunge forward, pulse down for 3 (8)
Combo 3 (32):
- Pony to the right 4 times (8)
- Jump squat forward 4 times (8)
- Jump squat back 4 times (8)
- Pony back left 4 times (8)
Combo 4 (32):
- Heel tap forward while arms do chest press 4 times (8)
- Heel tap forward while arms do overhead press 4 times (8)
- Heel tap forward while arms press forward 4 times (8)
- 4 Jumping jacks (8) (as you jack, turn and face the other direction and repeat the whole pattern from the top on the opposite lead)
* Army 8:
- Hands to the floor (1-2)
- Legs into push-up position (3-4)
- 1 Push-up (5-8)
- Legs come forward to meet hands (1-2)
- Stand up (3-4)
- 2 Jumping jacks (5-8)
