Do-able Double Step
This is a
Double Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 15895)
Vertical step arrangement:
Home
Jail
Participants start between the benches.
1.
- (Home) basic 3/knee up to Jail (16)
- Alternating kicks (ping-pong) Jail and Home, end at Jail (16)
(Repeat starting on Jail)
2.
- (Home) turn 2 times, switch to Jail and turn 2 times (16)
- (Home) turn around-the-world (one continuous turn, ending in the same position) (8)
- (Home) repeater knee to Jail
(Repeat on Jail)
3a.
- (Home) shuffle turn Home to Jail 4 times (16)
- (Home) diagonal loop (over-the-top diagonally, turning on the floor and coming back...you end up exactly where you started) (8)
- Ping-pong knee 2 (8)
3b.
- (Home) turn-straddle-turn (also called U-turn, horseshoe, etc.) you will end up on outside of bench (8)
- (Home - on the outside) hustle up and back (8)
- (Home) double knee and over the top toward Jail (8)
- (Jail) ping-pong knee (or substitute turn around the world to get everyone REALLY dizzy) (8)
(Repeat 3a and 3b starting on Jail)
4.
- (Home) Big T (also called travelling L) 8 counts toward Jail
- (Jail) Big T back to Home (8)
- (Home) 8 counts on top (I do a tick-tock variation) (8)
- (Home) lunge side 3 times exit toward Jail (8)
(Repeat on Jail)
I incorporate these into quad-step by performing as a mirror image with Red/Green. Do Home/Jail with left lead Home and right lead Jail so you can ping-pong Home/Jail 4 times, then advance diagonally to Red, ping-pong 2 times, then do a 3-repeater on Red and stay there to begin the pattern again. If you do this as only a double step pattern, it won't matter which lead you use to begin. Enjoy, and email me if you have any questions.
