This is an idea I came up with for my Kickbutt Step class. When I have a class of 6-8 intermediate to advanced steppers, I pull this out to change up the usual forum of step training!!

First of all, we set our steps up 2 side by side in a circle of 8 steps as shown below:

seventh sixth . . . . . . . . . . . . My . . . . . . . . Home (for example) fifth .... .... . . . . . . . . .... .... first fourth .... .... . . . . . . . . .... .... second third . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

The step you start on is considered your "home" step. You will start out facing each other and warm up with your favorite warmup patterns. There is a set of combos for each step and you will travel to each step starting with a right lead moving to the next step and when you end up back at home, you can start over with a left lead moving left to the next step. This is optional depending on the level of your participants and the time restraint. I also use a variety of risers on the steps and remember if you are changing steps at a corner, you may have to add a curve to your step!!

- Basic right-lead 4x's
- Left knee strike 4x's
- Pivot over/right knee strike 4x's
- Travel knee (left knee first) 3x's (with back hand slap)
- 4 Steps forward to next step (4 counts)

- Turnstep (right lead) 4x's/arms jab right/left counts 1,2 and clap counts 3,4,etc.
- Straddle step 3x's (one this end, one center, and one far end) exit left
- 4 Jacks to next step

- Step/knee straddle 4x's (step right, left knee straddle left/right repeat other side)
- Repeater knee left 4x's, straddle left/right, repeat right knee repeater 4x's straddle right/left and exit left
- Shuffle forward with double arm block forward to next step 4 counts

- Diagonal 4 counts
- Side kick 3x's right leg-short end, center, far end
- Diagonal 4 counts
- Side kick 3x's left leg-short, center, and far end
- Over the top 3x's with sunshine arms (big circle hands start center) exit right
- 4 Kicks forward to the next step (8 counts) left/right/left/right

- V-step left-lead with hook jabs left arm leads 4 x's
- Up,up left/right, counts 1 and 2 hold for 2 hops with claps counts 3,4
- Down, down, right/left counts 5,6 2 hop again 7,8 (repeat this one time)
- Grapevine right to other step 4 counts

- I-step right lead 4 x's
- Alternating front kicks left,right,left,right (2 sets of 8 counts)
- 1/2 Jacks to the next step 4 x's

- Up right/left alternating lunges right/left 3x's with elbow blocks (8 counts)
- Inverted V-step with cross jabs 4 x's right lead (2 sets of 8 counts)
- Step straight over step right/left
- Step together right/left 2 x's to next step (you may have to turn right when you reach next step)

- Tap up 2x's (8 counts)
- Up, up right/left counts 1,2
- Lunges right/left counts 3-8, exit left side
- Squat to left side with elbow strike left arm 2 x's (8 counts)
- Squat to right side with elbow strike right arm 2 x's
- Straddle/hop with clap 2 x's center (8 counts)
- Straddle down right/left counts 1,2 then hop forward (while straddling counts 3, 4 with clap-feet come together at short end then walk forward to home step counts 5,6,7,8 (left/right/left/right))

Start over with left lead and change direction!!
