Max Strength Profile
This is a
Cycling pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 15780)
Start out by telling your class this is a strength profile, but they need to work within their personal parameters. So, if they have knee issues, don't take the resistance to a level that will exacerbate that problem. Likewise, if they experience any pain in their knees while doing this profile...take the resistance down.
- I Feel Love (extended mix 8:17) Warm up ending in highest resistance
- Chase the Ace - seated climb - highest effort - 3:01
- Rise - seated climb - next highest effort - 3:39
- Touche- seated climb - next highest effort (stay on climb) - 3:39
- Drum Trip-Speed work (30 on/30 off) or recovery - 3:45
- Falling to Pieces -standing climb - highest effort - 4:11
- Holiday (Green Day) - standing climb - next highest - 3:52
- Saturday Nights Alright For Fighting (Remix by Kid Rock and Nickleback) - speed work (attack during chorus) or recovery - 3:46
- Stop Dragging My heart Around - seated climb or standing climb - start at incline and add elevation (resistance) 4 times- 4:04
- Tomorrow (Bob Seegar ?) - seated climb or standing climb - (find your personal cadence that will allow tempo and position changes throughout the song) - 3:41
- The Cup of Life (Spanish Version)- attacks during the chorus to the finish line - 4:31
Cool Down
- The Mummers Sance - 3:05
- Night Ride Across the Xauscus - 5:08
Remind your class that they WILL be uncomfortable during the climbs but to concentrate on their pedal stroke, relaxation and breathing...not the discomfort. I do some visualizations throughout the ride that are local in nature (climbs I personally know and do), so you can do the same if you're comfortable with that mode of coaching.
