From Beginners to Advanced
This is a

(pattern 15872)
Hi there!
I have real trouble in my mixed ability class choreographing something challenging for my regular students but keeping it basic enough so the beginners don't get lost.
I've been doing this 4 a month or so, it worked so well I'd like to pass it on as a thank you for all the great ideas i've used from this site.
Beginner
Block 1
- (1-8) Grapevine right, double curl l
- (1-8) Walk forward 4, march 4 (or 2 jacks)
- (1-8) Grapevine left, double curl right
- (1-8) Walk backward 4, march 4 (or 2 jacks)
(Moves round in a square shape, as many times as you like)
Block 2
- (1-16) Grapevine right+left side to side x4 (or L-shape grapevine)
- (1-16) Step and push behind*
- (1-16) Walk forwards 4, boxstep right x3
- (1-16) Walk backwards 4, boxstep left x3
(Repeat Block 2 with left leg lead)
Block 3
- (1-16) Mambo right x3, grapevine right
- (1-16) Mambo left x3, grapevine left
(Repeat as many as you like)
Block 4
- (1-16) Single side step x8
- (1-16) Single curls x2, double curl x1
(Repeat maybe 4 times, 2 allow for optional recovery before starting over)
Advanced
Block 1
- (1-8) Grapevine right, double left curl with full turn
- (1-8) Walk forwards 4, jacks x2
- (1-8) Grapevine left, double right curl with full turn
- (1-8) Walk backwards 4, jacks x2
Block 2
Same as beginner, but with L-shape grapevine & jumping boxstep (step right, left two jumps bringing feet back together)
Block 3
- (1-16) Mambo right x1, pivot turn right x1, mambo right x1, grapevine right x1
- (1-16) Mambo left x1, pivot turn left x1, mambo left x1, grapevine left x1
Block 4
Same as beginner, on the double curl advanced members can add a pivot forward (double = 1 curl normal position, same leg bring foot slightly forward for second curl)
* Step push behind = step right push left toe behind, step left push right toe behind (teaching point, only push toe down, not the whole foot as may pull calf, achilles)
Hope it will help someone out there!
