Injured but still teaching? You kneed this!
This is a
Hi/Lo pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 15878)
As instructors we have all taught when burnt out, ill or hungover; some muppets even teach following knee surgery.. so here's a routine I used after my cartilage operation. It has absolutely no lateral movements (step touches, grapevines etc). It's kind on the knee as the moves can be performed low or modified. Work hard on class cues though so they don't take it easy! It's multi-directional but basic, so if you want fancy pivoting cross-phrased mambos, please look elsewhere..
I
- 4 Heel digs move forward (8)
- 4 Side lunges on the spot (8)
- 4 Heel digs move bwd (8)
- 4 Back lunges on the spot (8)
II
- Walk / jog to right corner & 2 pumps (8)
- Walk / jog back to center & 2 pumps (8)
- Repeat to left corner and back (16)
III
- A
- Right V-step face front (4)
- Right V-step 1/4 turn to right (4) easy on that turn!
- 4 Jacks (hi or lo) facing right wall (8)
- Repeat with left lead & use left turn to move back to face front (16)
- B
- 8 Front kicks on the spot leading with left leg (16)
- 8 Jog / march on the spot left leg (16)
- 4 Front kicks (8)
- Jog / march (8)

Now do IIIA but with Left leg leading, then IIIB right leg leading.
IV

- Karate kick & little march other lead (8)
