Fun footwork
This is a
Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 15885)
Hi everyone, I have been stealing patterns for too long!!! These are some fun and different foot patterns you can add to your routines. They make people think, and get heart rate up.
- Side to side march
- Start by getting them to right march up on the step 7 times and then a down down.
- Up up, 6 (right/left), 5 (right/left), 4 (right/left), 3 (right/left), 2 (right/left), 1 (right/left), down down.
- Have them continue this and you show them the following.
- Up, Up (1,2)
- Right squat wide off the right side of the step, over the top left, right (3,4,5)
- Left squat wide off left side of step, over the top right, left (6,7,8)
- Right squat wide off the right side of the step, over the top left, right (9,10,11)
- Left squat wide off left side of step, up,up right, left (12,13,14)
- Down, down (15,16)
Cue that there are 4 squats total and count them as the foot comes down. So, I cue:
- "Up,up" 1 (2,3), 2 (2,3), 3 (2,3), down, down"
I also cue the direction with my arms. To change leads, single kick corner corner, one repeater knee.
I call this next one "Rock over the top"
Start by getting them into a groove with right lead:
- 2 Rocks (or stomps) right (1-4)
- 1 Rock (stomp) left (5-8)
Have them do this a few times, then change to:
- 1 Rock right, left foot comes down on side of step (1,2)
- Over the top, step down right side of step (3,4,5)
- Left foot on step, down, down (6,7,8)
The beat emphasis is on 1, 3, 5, and 7. So on these beats que "rock (1,2) over (3,4) rock (5,6) back (7,8)"
To change leads, do 1 repeater knee and 2 single knees
These are hard to explain, but once you get the rhythm it is quite fun. Any questions I will try to explain!!!
