Tapless Intermediate/Advanced Combo
This is a
Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 16121)
How I cue this 4 8-count combo (PART ONE is the first 2 8-counts, PART TWO is the last 2 8-counts):
- Stomp (the step) mambo (the floor)
- Knee and weave
- Over-the-top or box
- Reverse 2 hams up
- Slide-low stomp
- Stomp-straddle, cross and pivot
Explanation with counts and with suggestion on how to build:
PART ONE
- Begin with 5-knee-repeater and exit (1 8-count plus counts 1-4)
- 1 Single knee (counts 5-8)
Change to:
- Stomp the step, turn back and mambo the floor (counts 1-6)
- Return to step, 2-knee-repeater and exit (counts 7-4)
- 1 Single knee (counts 5-8)
Change to:
- Stomp the step, mambo the floor (counts 1-6)
- 2-Knee-repeater becomes knee-weave over (counts 7-4)
- Over the top (or box step over) (counts 5-8)
PART TWO
- Begin with 3 hamstring curls on top and exit (1 8-count)
Change to:
- 2 Ham curls on top (counts 1-4) and slide off the right side of the bench (counts 5-6)
- Low-stomp your exit (low stomp exit on right on 7 - stomp the step with your left foot - on 8, exit behind the step right left on counts 1-2)
- Option: Instead of sliding to the side of the bench for your low-stomp exit, you can throw in a quick spin on top as you exit into your low-stomp. Both the slide and the spin use 2 counts.
- Stomp the step 2x
Change to:
- 2 Ham curls on top and slide (counts 1-6)
- Low stomp, exit back (counts 7-2)
- Stomp-straddle-stomp and exit off the front of the bench
Change to:
- REVERSE 2 ham curls on top and slide (so you're now facing the back) (counts 1-6)
- Low stomp, exit back (counts 7-2)
- Stomp-straddle-stomp and exit off the back of the bench (3-8) and you're ready to start from the top of PART ONE on the left lead
- Option: Stomp (3) - straddle (4,5) - stomp (6) exit (7,8) becomes stomp left (3), straddle down (4,5), bring your right leg over the step and cross it in front of your left leg (6), pivot over your left shoulder (7) step toward the right corner of the bench with your right foot (8) and you're ready to start from the top of PART ONE on the left lead.
