Twist and Shout 32's
This is an
Aquatic pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 16065)
All these combos are 32 count after break down. I use a tempo of about 128-130. This give the opportunity to use FULL RANGE of MOTION. I always stress this to my students.
Combo 1
- Leap travel 4 (16 count) pull arms across front of body
- Jog wide knees with toe touch (8 count)
- Twist feet together (8 count) cue abs big opposing arms
Repeat combo in other direction
Combo 2
- Aleternating giant kicks to front (8 count)
- Knee high jog with fan arms (elbos at waist swing open and close) 8 count
- Wide leg jog (8 count)
- Aleternating reverse giant kicks (8 count) reach forward cue abs gluts tight
Combo 3
- Cross country ski alternating arms (16 count)
- Cross country ski unison arms (16 count) Both arms reach forward and pull down
- Cross country ski unison sweeps (16 count) Arms skim top of water sweep out and front
- Cross country ski alternating arms with a cross (16 count)
After practice add a turn to each side of pool for each arm pattern.
Combo 4
- *Double bunny hop forward to shallow (16 count)
- Knee high jog reverse (8 count) cue lean back and scoop!
- Turn to deep knee high jog forward (8 count)
- *Double bunny hop reverse (16 count)
- Face front hop kick side right lead (8 count)
- Hop kick side left lead (8 count)
*Double bunny hop: hop twice on both feet traveling forward, angle the body to the corners on each pair of hops. Hands cupped reach out from waist and pull forward. On reverse push forward palms flat.
This is a very aerobic aqua combo. I like to teach just like a low impact class with each combo being repeated after it's learned then weaving them together. Have fun email with questions.
