Lethal Leslie #44

This is a Step pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 16067)

These combos are from back in January when I taught them. I just haven't felt like explaining them. The first 16 counts of the warm up I can't take credit for. It was from Mark O'Kluike. Also, a couple of presenters at canfit did something like this. Horizontal step by the way, and assume a right lead for all combos.

Warm Up

Twist, attitude box exit & stomp (10) - I start with a repeater 4 and then change things one at a time from there. So first would be the twist, right foot (on the toes) goes to the step at the left corner with the knee out to the east (1), plant the foot and turn the knee to face north east (2), then repeat 3. Next add the attitude, twist (1,2) abduct to the side (3,4), then repeat 2. Here's the final part, which I just end up showing: twist (1,2) attitude (3,4) left foot crosses over the right foot and lands on the step (5), right foot down to the floor (6), left foot to the floor (south side by the way, 7), right foot stomps the step & left foot lifts at the same time (8), exit left right (9,10).

Combo 1

Spider V ending on top (12) - thanks to Carole P. for this one, right lead, up in a V right left (1,2), right foot to floor behind left foot (3), left foot to floor a little wider & right foot lifts slightly (4), right foot back down in the same place & left foot lifts (5), up in a V left right (6,7), left foot to floor behind right foot (8), right foot to floor out wide & left foot lifts slightly (9), left foot to floor in same spot & right foot lifts (10), up in a V right left (11,12)

Repeater toes rock back & stomp - easy version is a repeater 5. Step knee (1,2), left foot to the floor right foot is still on the step (3), right foot to the floor left foot to the step (4), right foot to the step left foot to the floor (5) left knee (6) left foot to the floor (7), right foot rocks back to the floor behind the left foot and left foot lifts slightly (8), left foot back to the floor on the same spot (9), right foot stomps the step (10) exit left right (11,12).

Combo 2

Tap tap 1/2 orbit - the tap tap part is just 2 double time toe taps & then you go right into a 1/2 orbit.

Kick & stomp - (right lead at left corner) step kick on the step (1,2) left foot to the floor & right foot lifts over the step (3), right foot stomps the step & left foot lifts slightly (4), exit left right (5,6)

Power jog - is just an option for a basic step, a full reverse, a pivot turn or a mambo. Left lead, facing the east, left foot hop over to the north side of the step right knee is up in the air (1), right foot to the floor on the north side of the step towards the west end & left knee is up (2), left foot hops over to the south side of the step & right knee is up (3), right foot to the floor at the east end of the step on the south side and left knee is up (4).

Combo 3

Stomp & pop over & back (8) - this is just another option for a stall, curb walk, whatever you want to call it. Right lead at left corner, right foot stomps the step & left foot lifts slightly (1), left foot to the floor on the same spot (2), right foot hops over the step to the north side facing west still & left foot is up (3) left foot rocks back behind right foot & right foot lifts slightly (4), right foot back on the same spot & left foot lifts (5), left foot hops over to the south side of the step & right foot is up (6) right foot rocks back behind left foot (7), left foot back on the same spot & right foot is up (8).

Skip repeater (8) - 4 double time toe taps and one knee lift

Up & straddle - everyone should know what an up & straddle is. Come up (assuming a left lead at east end) left right (1,2) and straddle left right (3,4). Option: left foot to the step & pause (1,2) chasse up & straddle right left right (3&4). I may not have explained this one very good. It's a hard one to explain. On count two the left foot moves over slightly & the right foot is just starting to lift up.

Stomp off box cha cha cha (6)- left lead at east corner, left foot stomp the step moving off the end (1), right foot to the floor off the east end facing north east (2), left foot crosses over the right (3), right foot steps back a little wider (4), cha cha cha to the west corner (5&6).

That's it for now. Hope you enjoy. Email if you have any questions.
