Lethal Leslie #45

This is a Step pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 16087)

Horizontal step (as always), assume a right lead on each combo.

Warm Up

3 stomps - 3 alternating stomps the last one is on the floor. I started with a 6 count mambo and march. Then added the third stomp.

4 hams - you turn over your right shoulder with the hams and you end up facing west at the east end of the step.

Combo 1

Rhythm spin (10)- I start with showing them rhythm off the ends which is only 4 counts. So left lead at right corner, left foot up at right corner & right foot up hanging off east end (1), right foot to floor at east end & left foot lifts hanging above the step (&), left foot back on the step & right foot lifts and bring it slightly in front of left foot (2), right foot to the floor on the north side of the step while turning the body to the right (3), left foot to the floor on the north side facing east now (4), right foot steps towards the right corner facing the back (5), and repeat again.

*Rhythm off the ends (8) - it's a variation of stomp the bug, left lead at right corner, left foot up at right & right foot up hanging off east end (1), right foot to floor at east end & left foot lifts hanging above the step (&), left foot on the step & right foot lifts (2), exit home right left (3,4), repeat to left/west corner

2 Reverse knees stomp box stomp - I start with 2 knees on top of the step exit and 6 count mambo no march. The change it to, 2 reverse knees exit, 6 count mambo. Then I show them the change, 2 reverse knees, stomp the end, box home and stomp the corner.

Combo 2

Kick ball change swivel & ski - It's just a repeater. Geoff Bagshaw did this at canfit. I don't know if I like it yet, but I'll do my best to explain it. Right lead at left corner, step kick (1,2) ball change floor step floor (3&4, not sure if this part is right), right foot to the floor wide almost to the east corner (5), swivel to face the east (6), ski 2X (7,8)

Stomp off step knee march- just another variation of a repeater. Can start with a repeat 2 march. Do a stomp and a knee on the corner of the step and march. Then can take the stomp off the end of the step, the step knee is on the floor and march back. Always an option to spin the march.

Stomping weave - The easy version is just a stomp and straddle the step. If you want, left lead at right corner, left foot stomps the step & right lifts slightly (1), right foot steps behind the left foot to the north side of the step (2), left foot to the floor just a little wider than the right foot (3).

Combo 3

Repeater 4 (Elvis & 3 quick lunges knee & exit) - Obviously I start with a repeater 4. Next, Elvis on top of step & repeater 2. Then I change the repeater 2 to, 3 quick lunges left right left, left knee & exit. The Elvis is 4 counts, the 3 quick lunges & knee exit are 6 counts. The lunges are counts 5,6,7.

Kick around 2X (10) - I first saw this on Silly's video. Someone did it at canfit and I can't remember who. I start with a kick & mambo back 2X's to the corner, with a repeater 2 to switch leads. As they continue to do this I show them the variation. So, left lead at right corner, step kick (1,2), right foot to the floor on the north side of the step (3), exit left foot to north side turning towards the step (4), right foot steps towards north west corner (5), and repeat the last 5 counts again.

Combo 4

Up & 2 side lunges exit & box step - you are exiting to the south side of the step. The up & 2 lunges are 6 counts, then you exit left foot to the floor (7), right foot crosses over the left foot (8), step left right turning to face the step and the east corner (9,10).

Wide ball change 2X - I usually start with 2 alternating repeater 2 knees. Then I change it to a double Elvis off the ends. Then the final, left lead at east corner, stomp off the end (1,2) ball change on the floor right left (&,3), left foot stomps the step again (4), and exit home right left (5,6), repeat again to the west corner (7-12)

Power jog - is just an option for a basic step, a full reverse, a pivot turn or a mambo. Left lead, facing the east, left foot hop over to the north side of the step right knee is up in the air (1), right foot to the floor on the north side of the step towards the west end & left knee is up (2), left foot hops over to the south side of the step & right knee is up (3), right foot to the floor at the east end of the step on the south side and left knee is up (4).

Combo 5

Repeater 5 - From Rob Glick at canfit. Obviously start with a repeater 5 and a basic. Then quick over right left (1&2), step up on the step left right (3,4) then repeater 3. Then start to change the repeater 3: left foot to the floor and squat (5) lift up (6), squat again (7) step knee (8) exit left right (9,10). Then change it again, to just the first squat (5) step knee (6) and march on the floor (7-10). Then change the march, so it would be step knee (6) exit & box step on the floor (7-10).

I hope I've explained everything OK. If not feel free to email me.
