Tapless Intermediate Step II
This is a
Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 16115)
Final product - as i cue it in class:
- Basic one, push the knee (off the end), walk your straddle, up and lunge, double lunge, lunge-hop-turn, rock-and-stomp, hop-turn, knee up
Explanations with counts and suggestion to build:
- Basic right (counts 1-4)
- Push the knee off the end (counts 5-8)
- Same as a knee lift with a quarter-turn off the end. If your lead is right, you will quarter turn off the right end of the step. If your lead is left, you will quarter turn off the left end of the step. I often point to the direction to 'push the knee' to remind the class
Add on:
- One basic (1-4)
- Push the knee (5-8)
- Walk your straddle (counts 1-2) - walk 2 steps so that you're straddling the bench
- Up 1 lunge & exit front and stomp 1x (counts 3-8) & travel facing the back
Add on:
- One basic (1-4)
- Push the knee (5-8)
- Walk your straddle (1,2)
- Up and lunge (3-7)
- Double lunge (tap-knee-tap) (8-4)
- One lunge and exit off the front (5-1) Stomp 1x (count 2) & travel facing the back
Change:
- One basic (1-4)
- Push the knee (5-8)
- Walk your straddle (1,2)
- Up and lunge (3-7)
- Double lunge (8-4)
- One lunge and HOP-TURN OUT off of the front, ROCK & STOMP, (5 8) & travel facing the back
Rock & stomp = leading into it, one lunge left, double lunge right, one lunge left right into a hop turn off the front, landing on your left leg (ROCK) & immediately stomp the step with your right (& STOMP)
Options: You can ROCK turning out and & STOMP on the floor, turning back into the step to continue
Complete by adding the ending:
- One basic (1-4)
- Push the knee (5-8)
- Walk your straddle (1,2)
- Up and lunge (3-7)
- Double lunge (8-4)
- Lunge-hop-turn (5,6)
- Rock (or turn out to face the front) (count 7)
- Stomp (the step or the floor) (count 8)
- Hop turn over the step (1-4)
- One knee up (5-8)
Option: knee on the floor
