I have been using this website ever since I started teaching some nine years ago and I now feel confident enough to add something to here goes....

This is one of the best Pilates moves that I have found, it is called the Neck Pull; yet I don't call it that as clients have a tendency to actually pull with their neck to get them up the whole way. I prefer to call it spinal articulation!

Have the client lying flat out (as an option they can slighly bend their knees) and on the exhalation they will start to roll the spine off the mat (if they get stuck at the half way point "the sticking point" as a little cheat they can lightly clasp the back of their thighs to help them over their sticking point") Inhale to roll the spine back down.

Tell them that if they are using their hips at all to help them up they will start to feel it burn after about rep 3. For beginners they will have to use the little cheats!!
