Feel The H2O Temperature Rising
This is an
Aquatic pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 16571)
Warm up: (focusing on different muscle groups) Perform the following exercises going across and back the width of the pool.
- Jogging forward with breast stroke arms; like opening a heavy curtain.
- Side steps. Stepping out with one leg sideways and dragging to close the other leg, keep repeating this side steps all the way to the other side of the pool. Then lead with the other leg coming back.
- Jogging backwards with reverse breaststroke arms; pulling the water into your chest.
- Crab walk sideways. Legs are spread out, knees are bent, get on the balls of your feet and extend the arms out to the sides. Shuffle sideways with this position; walking like a crab. Remember legs are kept spread throughout the entire set.
- Putting your pants on. Extending one leg forward leading with the heel. Land that heel on the floor then roll on the ball of that foot. Repeat the movements on the other leg. The arms will extend and reach forward by the ankles like you are pulling a pant leg up all the way to the waistline. Abs tight!
- Leaping across and back.
I use this warm up every class. Most of my ladies have memorized it by heart already. This is my "meet and greet" portion of the class. This gives us time to visit with each other and not have to worry so much on what to do next.
