Very Simple Vertical

This is a Step pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 16358)

This is one long 96 count combination that has worked well with my Step I Express class (30 minutes). It is tapless and self-reversing, with a vertical bench (of course!). I will include some explanations at the end, but please email me if you still have questions. You will begin with a right lead on the left (west) side of the bench.

Repeat with left lead, beginning on right (east) side of bench

Explanations:

* Curb walk: This can be further simplified to doing two triple stomps. Curb walk breaks down, assuming a left lead: stomp left foot on bench, lifting right foot slightly off floor (1); return right foot to floor, lifting left foot slightly off bench (2); stomp left foot across bench on the floor--the west side--lifting right slightly (3); return right to floor, lifting left slightly (4); stomp left on bench, lifting right slightly (5); return right to floor, lifting left slightly (6); "rock" back on floor left/right (7-8)

* Scissor: A tapless way to go over the top, using a glute squeeze. Assuming a left lead, step left foot on bench (1); swing right leg behind you over the bench (2); step down on the floor right/left (3-4)

* Kicks around the world: To make this simpler, just do travel kicks 4x. Assuming a left lead, step left on bench, kick right, straddle down right/left (1-4); step right on bench, kick left, exit bench on west side left/right, turning to face the back of the room (5-8); step left on bench, kick right, straddle down right/left (9-12); step right, kick left, exit bench on east side left/right, turning to face the front (13-16)
