199908 Step/Double Step combinations
This is a
Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 16622)
Here's a step/double step routine from August 1999
Vertical bench
Combo 1:
- Two side leg lifts straddle (8 counts)
- Tap up tap down mambo (pivot turn) on the floor (8 counts)
- Two hamstring curls straddle (8 counts)
- Knee-side-curl straddle (8 counts) -- changes lead
Combo 2:
- Double knee repeater down and jack to other side (8 counts)
- Two turn steps left and right (8 counts)
- Corner to Corner 1/2 hop turn 2x (16 counts)
Double step, vertical bench
Combo 1: (starts left side of home bench)
- Right side leg lift straddle left side leg lift transfer (8 counts)
- Right tap up tap down mambo (pivot turn) on the floor (8 counts)
- Two hamstring curls straddle (8 counts)
- Knee-side-curl straddle (8 counts) -- exits right side of away bench
Combo 2:
- Double knee repeater down and jack to the other side (8 counts)
- Left turn transfer Left turn straddle* (8 counts)
- Corner to corner 1/2 hop turn 2x (16 counts)
*I call this an "inside turnstep"
Left turnstep on the right side of the home bench
transfer to the away bench, facing the back wall and do a left turnstep straddle down on the away bench, facing the front. I cue it as 'turnstep, transfer, turnstep, straddle'. It's best to preview it, otherwise, they get confused and use the wrong leg. You can also cue it as 'left turn, transfer, left turn, straddle' to emphasize that they are using the same foot to initiate both turns, but on opposite steps.
