Wait! There's More (Boot Camp)

This is a [Other] pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 16769)

I teach a boot camp class at a gym that doesn't have enough equipment for members. So all I have to use is a step and my imagination. Since I don't do "step," I have to come up with other crazy stuff, much of which I have borrowed from this site.

Here is what I am trying out tomorrow:

Wait! There's More

1) Start with a basic warm-up on the floor. Step-touches, grapevines, squats, etc.

2) Move to a warm-up on the step. Basic right, V-step, repeater knees, etc.

3) Make the step moves even harder to start getting the heart rate up.
Basic= run or jog up on step
V-step= wide jump up, bring legs together and jump down, then add two jacks (8 counts)
Repeater knees for 32 counts on each side with a squat with the leg on the step.

Now for the good part.
Start with one move and keep doing that move while adding something on.
Do each move for 64 counts of the music or pick a number between 10 and 50. It will look kind of like this.

A) Squats

Then add something to the squats

A) Squats
B) Lunge and kick

Then

A) Squats
B) Lunge and kick
C) Alternating kicks on step

Then

A) Squats
B) Lunge and kick
C) Alternating kicks on step
D) Jumping jacks

Then

A) Squats
B) Lunge and kick
C) Alternating kicks on step
D) Jumping jacks
E) Soccer taps on step

Other things to add are push-ups, bur pees, mountain climbers, side kicks, suicides, run across room and run backwards, fast grapevine across room. If you have equipment to use you can add that in.

This class is very easy to tailor to meet the needs of your class. You can put in more cardio or more strength training stuff.

Have fun and tell you class you got it from someone else!
