Latin Lo
This is a
Hi/Lo pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 16732)
We all know that group dance fitness classes are a hot trend right now! Here is a pattern that I use in my "Latin Lo" class; we get so into it that we even wear little ruffled skirts over our leggings that shake when we move our hips!
- Starting on right lead, mambo front/back/front; cha cha
- Repeat on left side
- Alternate side mambo, starting with right lead (4)
- Repeat entire sequence, starting with left lead
- Side step to the right (4)
- Circle hips towards the right (4)
- Alternate back mambo, starting with right lead (4)
- Repeat whole sequence, starting with the left lead and stepping to the left
- Side mambo right; then squat down to the right (pump arms and chest twice when coming back from the squat)
- Repeat on the left
- Kick/ball change with the right foot (4)
- Jazz square, right lead (2)
- Repeat whole sequence on left
- Right lead, alternating cha cha moving forward (4)
- March back, snapping arms up and down (8)
- Right lead side taps (2); march (4)
- Left lead side taps (2); march (4)
- Repeat whole sequence, starting with left lead alternating traveling cha cha
Enjoy!
Special notes:
-for kick ball change, low kick forward with right foot. Then step right foot behind you, and forward with left
-for jazz square, cross right foot forward in front of the left foot. Step back on the left, out to the side with the right, and then step the left foot together to the right. Optional shoulder shimmy shake on the cross!
Hope you have as much fun with this as my class does! A Latin-based aerobics cd ranging from 128-132bpm works best, our favorites are Best of Latin Pop, discs 1 & 2!
