Lunge-Lift-Cross-Swivel from Jacque
This is a
Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 16910)
32 counts; reverses, tapfree. Part 1 is fairly advanced, so I emphasize the base pattern & encourage people to stay with any part of the progression they're comfortable with. All layers are optional.
Final:
- Knee off the end + lunge-up-down + side leg lift (6)
- Cross leg over on top + swivel (2)
- Rock-down + stomp-over (4)
- Double-spin around the end to home (4)
- Quick-over, rock back + quick-over, rock back (8)
- Kick-walk-hopturn on floor (8)
Progression:
Part 1: 16 counts; reverses the lead.
Base: 3-knee repeater + 2 basics
- 1. 5-knee repeater + 1 basic
- 2. 3-knees + double stomp + 1 basic
- 3. Take the repeater off the end of the board; come home on the stomps.
- 4. Replace second knee with a quick-lunge up onto the board (count 4) + a quick-lunge half-on half-off board (count 5).
- 5. third knee becomes a side lift (count 6).
- 6. After the side lift, cross that leg over the standing leg on top of the board (count 7) + plus exit (counts 8,9) + only one stomp + 1 basic.
- 7. Swivel on top of the board on count 8 + rock down on count 9 + single stomp + 1 basic.
- 8. Single stomp becomes a stomp-over. Basic becomes a walk around the end of the board back to home. (You can also walk over the top, or shuffle around the end).
- 9. Optional double-spin on the walk home. (I like the double-spin because the stomp-over sets you up for it.)
Part 2: 16 counts; does not reverse the lead.
Base: 4 alternating kicks corner-corner
- 1. First 2 kicks become cha-cha-cha at the corners (half-on, half-off board)
- 2. Last kick goes to the floor facing side wall.
- 3. Optional hopturn on the floor on the last kick.
- 4. Corner cha-cha-cha's become optional quick-over-rock back 2 times.
