Easy Step 1
This is a
Step pattern from
www.turnstep.com.
(pattern 16890)
If your group is getting a bit older and just cant cope with all that dance choreography on the step and just wants a good workout and one that they can use at home - this one ticks that box.
Make sure that they are warmed up mobilised and ready to go first, check that they know their right from their left!
BLOCK A
- Alternate step (up, up, down tap) right and left (8 counts)
- Up knee right & left (8 counts)
- Horseshoe/turnstep right & left (turn, turn down tap) 8 counts
- Arabesque/glute lift right and left (8 counts)
BLOCK B
- 1 X I-step right (up, up jack out & in, down, down, jack out jack in) (8 counts)
- 1 X Helicopter turn right and left (across the top) (8 counts)
- 1 X Hopscotch repeater right and left (knee tap over step knee, step back) (16 counts)
Total counts 64
Build this gradually. Using add on until you get the block. Then build their confidence. Work on second block the same way and then put it all together.
Add intensity with hops. Make sure you teach them to off-load the knee before you go into the helicopter turns.
