Fun Kick Combo

This is a BoxAerobics pattern from www.turnstep.com. (pattern 16900)

Did this one the other night, and several members said they loved it. I'll break it down, but it's 32 counts on each side, and 64 when all put together. I liked it, because it all alternated, so we didn't have to start it all on one side and then switch it all over again. Oh, and I call a cross a punch, so when you see cross punch, that means the punch is going across the body to the opposite side instead of forward.

Facing front, three right cross punches to the left, then squat. Three left cross punches to the right, squat. (16 counts total)

After repeating the set 4 times, here's the change: 2 right cross punches, squat, right uppercut; alternate, 2 left cross punches, squat, left uppercut. (16 counts total)

Next change: 2 right cross punches, squat, right uppercut, left knee strike, right hook, left knee strike, right hook; alternate, 2 left cross punches, squat, left uppercut, right knee strike, left hook, right knee strike, left hook (32 counts total)

Next change: after the second right hook, shuffle right 3 counts, forward block left, shuffle back left 3 counts, forward block right (2 sets) for 32 counts: 2 right cross punches, squat, right uppercut, left knee strike, right hook, left knee strike, right hook, shuffle with a forward block, shuffle back with a forward block, repeat last 8 counts for a total of 32; alternate

Next change: after the first set of shuffles with the forward block, you will end shuffling to the left with a right forward block, then go right into a flurry of 8 forward punches l-right-left-right-left-r-l-r; then you're ready to start the 2 slow left cross punches. So here it all is: 2 right cross punches, squat, right uppercut, left knee strike, right hook, left knee strike, right hook, shuffle right 3 counts, forward block left, shuffle left 3 counts forward block right, fast 8 punches l-r; alternate, 2 left cross punches, squat, left uppercut, right knee strike, left hook, right knee strike, left hook, shuffle left with a forward block, shuffle right with a forward block, end with 8 fast punches right-left (64ounts total)

One last change we made, on the alternating side starting with the left cross punches, we did a round block instead of a forward block after the shuffles.

It took a good 8-9 minutes to complete, and I gave a few options: take the cross punches at different levels (height), head, abs, floor (hardest, because it requires a lunge and really turning that shoulder down and forward). They can walk instead of shuffling.
