Every now and then I like to use a theme for my work-outs. It gives me ideas for new moves. This one always goes over big.
Player Warm-up --60 seconds each
- 1. Jacks - rotate side, middle, side
- 2. Jump rope
- 3. Run the tires from one side of pool to other (out out in in) or (wide wide narrow narrow)
- 4. Run in place - high knees - turn at whistle blow
- 5. Squat kicks - no bounce
Game
The game consists of travel steps across the pool and back. You can use your favorites, or here are some suggestions.
- 1. Zig zag bunny hop - straight hop backwards
- 2. Hop on one leg only - there and back
- 3. Giant kicks
- 4. Tucks
- 5. Barrel leaps - same leg forward - switch at side to go back
- 6. Hopscotch
- 7. Jacks to side
- 8. Run in three gears 1. Slow 2. Medium 3. Fast
Half-time--Cheerleader Moves
- 1. Jog with cheerleader arms (single arm up up down down-- both arms out out)
- 2. Half jacks across pool - diagonal arms
- 3. High kicks
- 4. V-Jumps
After half time you can run the game again or let the class travel back and forth across the pool with noodels or kickboards. Enjoy!
